Akihabara Gallery – Video Games Galore

Below are some galleries of the major retro gaming shops in Akihabara from my trip in 2016. These might help if you want to get a general feel for the price of things. Also don’t forget to check out my Book-Off game shop maps in the links above!

  1. Out of curiosity, how much are those Super Famicom games complete in box? In the States they would be well over $200 each, any idea an estimate over there? Like are they considered rarities?

    1. Games can go from as low as Y500 for the really common titles, towards 2000Y for a more in demand title like Street Fighter. From there it could be as high as anything. For rarities im not too certain because i dont go into the habit of collecting rare stuff. I just get the common games that i want to play 🙂

      1. Wow – that’s awesome. I’m going to Japan with my fiancee for our honeymoon at the end of the year and can’t wait to explore some of these shops. Over here there aren’t really many game shops, and the ones that do exist have over-inflated the prices of anything pre-Playstation 2 to be completely unaffordable to collect, especially anything complete in box. Might have to grab some of the games I missed out on owning physical copies of when I get the chance! Thanks for the reply and love the pics.
