Daiba Itchome Shotengai – Decks Tokyo Beach, Odaiba City
Daiba Itchome Shotengai is the place to go for all the retro arcade lovers in Tokyo. If you did not get enough of a taste at Super Potato, you can also head to Odaiba City, specifically Decks Tokyo Beach for more 80/90s arcade goodness.
Odaiba City
Odaiba City is a man made island that’s designed as a mix of residential, commercial and tourism purposes. Within the island are multiple tourist attractions, one of which is Decks Tokyo Beach, an entertainment mall containing a very interesting arcade centre. Inside Decks is also a Sega World which is more focused on UFO catchers and rides.
Daiba Itchome Shotengai
Daiba Itchome Shōtengai is a small arcade centre focused on retro / old school gaming. Think of pinball machines and 90s arcade hits like Street Fighter II, Tokyo Wars, Virtua Cop and House of the Dead.
There’s no entry fee to go inside, and most games cost 100 Yen. I’ve never seen what a true 80s/90s arcade looks like in Japan, but this wouldn’t seem like an unreasonable representation.
