What to do in London, Go on a Free London Walking Tour
I was fortunate enough to score a work trip to London back in March this year. I think the company was using this as a reward for staff to keep them motivated because realistically I didn’t do a lot of work. It was a lot of chit chatting, meaningless catchups, and all the other crap that comes with the corporate life. However I did get to spend two days in London on my own to explore over the weekend. So this is the lazy guide for what to do in London over two days.
I should say that I was incredibly jetlagged. I took a Friday morning flight, meaning that i arrived midnight Singapore time when it was only about 3:30PM in the afternoon. Needless to say i basically fell asleep once I got into my hotel.

Yep this was an unplanned and unresearched trip. So i took the lazy option of having someone take me around for 6-7 hours across all of the tourist sites on a Saturday. I used this company and did the London All-in-One tour.

Overall it was a pretty good tour which cost me 20 pounds. Its a shortcut way to see everything when you are incredibly short on time, though I could understand that you may not get to appreciate some of the sights because of the rush. You tip whatever you want at the end of the tour, and when tipping fairly generously (this was about $35 SGD) i forgot what the exchange rates was. The tour guide’s name was Sinead and she provided the energy and laughter to keep us going throughout the 6 hour day. You do get an hour break to grab some lunch however.
I love city tours. I never saw myself as a tour person (really marks you as a tourist, haha!) but I fell in love with them in Berlin and now I like to do them whenever possible. I’ll have to keep this tour in mind for our trip to the U.K. in October. Maybe we’ll even get Sinead as well? 🙂
Yea it is a little bit too touristy but i guess there shouldnt be a stigma in being a tourist right 🙂 Theres no chance of anyone becoming a local in a few short days haha
